Jennifer Knight, CVR-CM, is the owner of Knight and Associates. The business has been serving the eastern North Carolina area since 1982. Ms. Knight first became associated with the firm in 1995 and has been the owner since October, 2003.

After attending Boston University, Jennifer moved to North Carolina, where she began her court reporting career in 1994. She has since attained both levels of certification from theNational Verbatim Reporters Association, the Certified Verbatim Reporter and the Certificate of Merit.

After working as a freelance court reporter for four years, Ms. Knight became an Official Court Reporter for the State of North Carolina and reported numerous criminal and civil jury trials, including eight capital cases, in various counties in central North Carolina. In January 2001 Jennifer returned to the world of freelance court reporting.

As a freelance reporter, she has broad-ranging experience, such as reporting at the North Carolina Utilities Commission, North Carolina Dental Board, Certificate of Need depositions, professional meetings, county commissioner meetings, Board of Directors meetings, Examinations Under Oath, and medical malpractice depositions. In the summer of 2003, Ms. Knight traveled to 15 states with Under Secretary Bill Hawks of the USDA, taking verbatim minutes of Listening Sessions held regarding the US Animal Identification Program. These transcripts were delivered to the USDA the next day to be published on the Internet.

Ms. Knight is also involved in professional and community organizations. She is currently the President of the North Carolina Verbatim Reporters Association and has previously served as Vice-President and Secretary of that organization. She is a graduate of Leadership Harnett, a community leadership development program in Harnett County, North Carolina, where she resides with her husband and three sons.
